About
I have recently defended my PhD at the History Department of the Central European University on the relationship between state and church in communist Romania. My academic training took me to Padova University where I worked with professor Gianpaolo Romanato, Oxford University where I had the privilege to count professor Peter Clarke and Anne Deighton among my academic tutors, the European History Institute in Mainz, the New European College in Bucharest. My research interests revolve around recent history of the East Central Europe, history of historical writing, memory and remembrance, religious studies, secularization, religion and politics.
I am a recurrent guest lecturer at the Department of History and International Relations at the Petru Maior University in Tirgu-Mures where I teach courses on Theory and Method in Historical studies and on a comparison between European fascism and communism to final year undergraduate students. I also belong to the editorial board of the journal Anuarul Institutului de Cercetari Socio Umane Gheorghe Sincai since 2008 and am a researcher at the Gheorghe Sincai Institute for Social Sciences and Humanistie of the Romanian Academy of Sciences in Tirgu-Mures.
